Liz Friend
I am the Background & Orientations Supervisor. I am lucky to work with a team of five fantastic people who, collectively onboard everyone that is hired to fill positions in our region. We do both the criminal history check as well as verify employment and professional references. Once someone passes the background, my team meets with them and explains the details of their assignment. At this meeting, all of their employment paperwork is filled out, including federal documentation of ability to work in the US. Our goal is to get people set up and started on their assignments smoothly. All of the paperwork needed to set up their payroll and benefits is prepared by my team. Because of this, we are a critical contact for both new and returning workers.
I have only been with Volt two months but am already excited about the changes we are making that will help both the candidates and the recruiting staff.
Our team is located at the Campus Office, across from Microsoft Building 27. Staff can contact me anytime at the main number, 425.702.4000, but I love email ( efriend@volt.com ). I can answer on-boarding and pre-placement questions or can assist with more complicated I-9 issues.
Contractors should know that we work hard and enjoy meeting them, welcoming them and working with them.
At the end of a long day of work for Volt I head to my second job....full-time mommy. I know that all mothers think their children are perfect and love to gush about them and I do too. I have three children ages 4 1/2 years, 6 years and 7 years. The difference between me and those other parents is that my children really are wonderful, energetic, perfect angels. I am not biased at all. It's true. Really! Family time is all the time at the Friend household and we do have a lot of fun. I look forward to boring you with all my kid stories in the near future.
