Mentor an injured Veteran who is Studying for MCDST certification

Microsoft IT Academy is partnering with Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C to pilot a mentor program that matches an experienced Microsoft Certified Professional with an injured soldier who is studying for the Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) certification. The mentor's real-world perspective, technical skills, and community connections can help these soldiers complete a path to proven skills, greater confidence, and new career opportunities.

The MCP Mentor Program pilot is currently accepting applications for volunteer mentors who are MCDSTs. Volt employees and other agency temporaries are welcome to participate. Volunteers must be willing to commit to at least 2 hours a month over a 3 month period. If you're interested in volunteering, click here for more information.

Help Orangutans by Donating Cell Phones and Ink Jet Cartridges

Master Pundu says:
“Save them, we must. They are our last hope.”

Woodland Park Zoo’s Cell Phone and Ink Jet Cartridge Drive

For every cartridge or phone you recycle with this program, money is donated to benefit the conservation of orangutans and their rainforest home.

“The single greatest threat to wild orangutans is the palm oil plantation.

Yes, poaching and the animal trade are other horrific problems but the number one problem is habitat deforestation for palm plantations.

We view our family of five as ambassadors to their cousins in the wild reminding us of their plight. Green Peace has stated that continued destruction of this forest is akin to a climate bomb. The forests hold 25% of the earth's carbons. If they are lost the destruction would be unimaginable.”
