Madagascar Ride
In my role as editor of the MSW What’s Happening module, I learned the story of Microsoft Premier Field Engineer Bishan Ruder and his 420-kilometer ride across Madagascar to raise funds for Computer Aid International, a British NGO that delivers refurbished PCs to the developing world.
Before Tuesday, I had never heard of Ruder or Computer Aid International. But as someone who raised over $4K for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as part of my Team in Training 100-mile ride around Lake Tahoe – and $1500 for AIDS organizations as part of my Ride for a Reason from Vancouver to Seattle – I know the commitment involved in fundraising and training for a cycling benefit event.
His fundraising goal is £1,500, or almost $3000. He’s currently at £ 381, or about $760. Help him – and would-be computer users in the developing world – by donating at his site.
