Code of Conduct
You are an employee of Volt, temporarily assigned by Volt to Microsoft to work on a specific project. As a Volt employee you are representing Volt. While on assignment at Microsoft, you will interact with Microsoft employees and others. You will have access to information about Microsoft's products and business, and you may be permitted access to Microsoft-owned software and hardware. You are expected to exercise good judgement and to act responsibly at all times in making use of this access to information and resources.
As a VOLT employee on assignment at Microsoft, you may:
Receive the benefits package offered by Volt, your employer. You are not eligible to participate in any Microsoft benefit plan or program.
Have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art computer technology.
Have access to free beverages, reasonably priced meals, first aid, and necessary office supplies. Please respect this privilege and do not take beverages or extra supplies off-site. Doing so may be viewed as theft.
Microsoft is an exciting place to work and you may become interested in permanent positions. Inquiries regarding permanent positions and/or resume submission may only be done via www.microsoft.com/careers or the job opportunities kiosk on campus. Contingent employees on assignment must NOT contact managers directly or use their email accounts to get information regarding employment.
As a VOLT employee it is inappropriate to:
Hold conversations regarding pay with other temporary employees, with regular Microsoft employees, or the Microsoft representative overseeing your work as a Volt temporary. These matters should be discussed with your Employee Relations Representative.
Copy any kind of Microsoft software for personal or other use. This is piracy and is a criminal offense. Piracy will be punishable to the full extent of the law. Microsoft hardware is identified by an "asset" tag and inventoried. Taking hardware off Microsoft property will be considered theft.
Request to be included on e-mail aliases not required for the successful completion of your assignment. This includes social aliases.
Engage in any activity on Microsoft sports fields or participate on Microsoft sports teams.
Identify Microsoft as your employer when asked for an employer reference. Employment reference inquiries or requests for verification of employment should be referred to Volt.
Visitors:
Personal guests must register at the reception desk at the Microsoft building, be issued a temporary name badge, and be accompanied by the agency temporary employee at all times. Visits must also take place during standard business hours.
Property, Packages and Containers:
All packages, including shopping bags, briefcases, handbags, or other containers brought onto or taken away from Volt and/or customers premises are subject to inspection at any time with or without notice. Employees are responsible for safeguarding their own property.
Property:
Desks, computers, telephones, file cabinets, and other related business equipment are owned by the Company and maintained for business purposes. The Company reserves the right to enter or inspect work areas and facilities, including but not limited to desks, file cabinets, E-mail, voice mail, and computer storage disks, with or without notice. The misuse of company property or theft is strictly prohibited.
