Alcohol

The purpose of this policy is to inform sponsoring managers and employees about their obligations to comply with federal, state, and local alcohol regulations, as well as to provide clear guidelines for responsible use of alcohol at company events. Microsoft supports activities and events where employees and other associates can get together in a social environment to recognize and celebrate achievements and build team morale. Microsoft employees and their invited guests are expected to use good judgment at all times at events involving alcohol, and consider the impact of their behavior on other attendees.

Employees and Invited Guest Responsibilities

Attendees are expected to manage their own level of alcohol consumption responsibly and to comply with federal, state, and local laws regarding the use of alcohol. Attendees are expected to take advantage of alternative transportation, such as a designated driver or a taxi whenever necessary. Please remember: You are responsible for your own behavior during the event and after leaving the event facility. You may be held liable under state and local law if you drink and drive or if you become intoxicated and damage property or injure others. Failure to adhere to these rules and responsibilities may be considered a disciplinary issue and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination.
