.NET Test Automation Recipes by Dr. James D McCaffrey
Reviewed by Bruce Payette

One of the best’s books I’ve read in the best several years on a computer topic. This really isn’t a beginner’s book but if you are an experienced programmer in any language it’s not hard to grasp. What I really like about this book is it teaches you how to think Powershell. Many books explain the semantics/syntax of a language but you never learn how to code in the style of the language, which is at least as important as knowing the syntax.

.NET Test Automation Recipes: The Definitive Test Automation Bible

by James McCaffrey

The new book .NET Test Automation Recipes: A Problem-Solution Approach is now available. This book is a must-have if you are a tester, developer, program manager, programmer-writer, or support engineer. The book shows how to write quick and easy but very powerful test automation. The entire initial production run of .NET Test Automation Recipes sold out in the first two days after publication, but the publisher (Apress) has released a second printing. The emphasis of the book is on practical techniques you can use immediately. .NET Test Automation Recipes was written by Volt's Dr. James McCaffrey, and Volt engineers on assignment at Microsoft performed the editorial and technical reviews.

.NET Test Automation Recipes is available at Amazon.com and also at the VTE office at a discounted price. You can get more information by sending a message to VTE at techTraining@volt.com or by calling (425) 702-4000 and asking for Grace, Keiko, or Shirley.
